Spiders Battle Abbottsford to 3-3
In a heartpounding, down to the last minute thriller, the Spiders battled the Abbottsford Mariners to a 3-3 draw. The sun was out that day and the Spiders were off to a soaring start as in the 15th minute, Ben Funkhouser #18 slid a ball home off a through ball from Peter Peterson #8. Funkhouser #18 was coming off a a month and a half injury and he made his mark with a goal for the Spiders. The Mariners, however, were able to equalize in the 36th minute after David Vandermook #23 landed his shot from the top of the eighteen in the upper left corner of the Spiders' net. He was assisted by Spencer Schmidt #11.
In the the 63rd mintue however the Spiders took the lead again after Tye Perdido came off the bench and slid a beautiful through ball to a running John Prugh #16. Prugh #16 deftly touched the ball around the outstretched fingers of the keeper and slid it more>>
